My name is Richard Finke III (but usually go by Dick). I am 29 years old and grew up in Harbor Creek, Pennsylvania. I took my first photography class at the age of 12 when I was in 6th grade they offered photography workshops after school for a few weeks out of the year. After that class I remember asking for a good camera for Christmas and my birthday for years. Finally I got a point and shoot camera for Christmas though not what I wanted I think it helped hold my interest in photography until I could buy a good SLR. It was a Canon A1 I purchased from my great uncle at a good deal it also came with 5 generic lenses. That camera got me threw high-school (although I still have it, just in case).
My High-school art teacher realised my interest in photography and reopened the schools darkroom to show me how to process film and print my own photographs. It was then that I started experimenting more with photography which got me a few photo displays in the school.
My senior year I received a photography pin at graduation to add to my varsity letter. After high-school I attended the Art Institute of Pittsburgh majoring in photography, where I studied for 2 years and received an Associates degree. Since then I have done some freelance jobs here and there including weddings, portrait and fashion work, advertising photography, and assisting photographers. I also worked at the Art Institute of Pittsburgh for 2 years as there Photography/Media Technician.
I now reside back in my home town of Harbor Creek, PA where I am currently trying to start up my photography business. I also work as a salesman at a tree nursery. Besides photography and working at the nursery I do some landscaping. I also enjoy working on Bonsai trees, being in nature and the great outdoors. I also have some interests in other arts and would like to try my hand at painting and carving among other arts.
Body of Work
I photograph mostly Portraiture and Fashion portfolio works. I have also been known to shoot for local businesses (product and advertising photography). I am willing to hear out your ideas and take on any assignments. Along with the previously mentioned, I also have experience in photographing Weddings, Photo Journalism, Wildlife and Nature, Travel, Artistic, and Boudoir photography.
